General Department of Committees Affairs

 

 

 

Organizational Connection

Connected to the Assistant Secretary General.

 

 

Main Objective

Provides administrative and technical services and Coordinates work needed by specialized committees, ad hoc committee, and select committee.       

 

 

Duties

1. Supervises committee's executives, employees of various departments, coordinates between them, follows-up, and observes its function to ensure the integrity of the work.

 

2. Receives transactions respecting committees, and registers and organizes them, then submits them to the committee's chairs.    

 

3. Supplies Documents and Statistic Department with copies of recent development concerning technical transactions that the committees have studies.  

 

4. Receives committee's reports, its attachment, registers, and organizes them in preparation for presentation .

 

5. Gathers committees' minutes, confirms their approval then submits them to Documents and Statistic Department for preservation.

 

6. Prepares a list of comparative systems that the  specialized or ad hoc committees are studying, when requested. 

 

7. Executes the formation of specialized committees each year.

 

8. Receives committees' requests for studies, information, consultation, offices materials, and administrative services that the office needs and coordinates with the concerned departments to provide such tasks. 

 

9. Contacts Consultant Department and Studies Department to seek assistance of counselors and researchers needed by committees when requested. 

 

10. Together with Cancellers and Sessions Departments, they prepare studies respecting the rules of the work of the Council and its committees.

 

11. Prepares letters and memorandums relating to committees to be presented to the Council when requested. 

 

12. Appoints a committee director and secretary for permanently in coordination with related departments.

 

13. Observes and authenticates visiting committees' meeting, ambassadors, and received guests to the Council's specialized committees as well as the visit made by the specialized committees outside the Council.

 

14. Prepares a periodical report on the work of the department and the way to enhance its performance.

 

15. Any other tasks that might be entrusted to it.
