Saudi Shura Council Speaker participates in Parliamentary Dialogue Forum between Councils of Arab World, Africa, Latin America, and Caribbean

Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, who is heading the Kingdom’s delegation, participated today in the Parliamentary Dialogue Forum with the Senates of Latin America and the Caribbean, which was held within the framework of the 11th Meeting of the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World in the Moroccan capital Rabat.*The Forum discussed the role of the Association in enhancing cooperation, as well as trade and economic exchanges between Africa, the Arab world, Latin America, and the Caribbean, and the prospects of these relations.*The Parliamentary Dialogue Forum also aims to enhance the role of the Senate in consolidating economic diplomacy and developing parliamentary dialogue on issues of common concern; sharing experiences and expertise and strengthening cooperation programs; issuing opinions and proposing legislative measures and recommendations to the summit of African, Arab and Latin American leaders, institutions, and governmental conferences on various issues.*The Association of Senates, Shura, and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World explained that the Parliamentary Dialogue Forum with Latin America and the Caribbean is an opportunity through which they aspire to establish a leading role that consolidates dialogue and cooperation programs, and explores new and multi-dimensional spaces according to a strategic partnership of solidarity based on rapprochement and effective joint parliamentary action that would form a solid bridge linking Arab, African and Latin American countries.*The conference discussed several main topics that revolve around economic and social development and the current challenges, especially in light of the Corona pandemic and its repercussions, and the strengthening of parliamentary openness to the Senates, Shura, and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World to various international regions, as well as “African-Arab cooperation and solidarity as a mainstay for economic rehabilitation” and development in light of the repercussions of the pandemic”, and the role of youth and women in development policies and sustainable investments.
