The Trade and Investment Committee meets with the General Supervisor of the Saudi Center for Economic Business in the presence of the Minister of Commerce.

The Shura Council’s Trade and Investment Committee met - via video communication - chaired by Council member and Chairman of the Committee His Excellency Dr.* Fahd bin Suleiman Al-Takhifi, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Commerce Dr.* Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, and His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Commerce and General Supervisor of the Saudi Center for Economic Business Dr.* Iman Bint Habas Al-Mutairi , and a number of officials in the center.*His Excellency the Minister of Commerce gave the members of the committee an explanation of the mechanism of work of the Saudi Center for Economic Business, the objectives for which it was established, its integration with the trade system, and its work in facilitating procedures for starting economic business and business environment services in accordance with international best practices.*During the meeting, the committee discussed the highlights of the annual report of the Saudi Center for Economic Business for the fiscal year 1442/1443 AH, related to the center’s performance during the year of the report, in preparation for submitting its report containing its opinion to the Council during the coming period.*The attendees studied the governance mechanisms in which the center relies on its work to develop the business environment so that it is consistent with the recognized governance literature, and the role of the various committees in the Federation of Chambers of Commerce to facilitate business on the one hand and government agencies concerned with business development on the other hand.*The meeting discussed the impact of the continuous changes in regulations and legislation on the business environment, as it is considered one of the most important challenges facing the investor.*The attendees also reviewed the efforts undertaken by the Center to provide appropriate solutions to meet these challenges.*Council members submitted a number of questions and inquiries to the general supervisor of the center and its officials, in addition to submitting proposals and future aspirations for developing the business environment and raising the contribution, cooperation and coordination of government agencies concerned with the business environment to raise its attractiveness to be a tributary and supportive of the Kingdom’s economy.
