Shura Council's Foreign Affairs Committee Meets with Ambassador of Azerbaijan Riyadh, March 30, 2021

Shura Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, headed by Council Member Assaf Abuthnain, held a meeting in Riyadh today with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Shahin Abdullayev.* At the outset of the meeting, Abuthnain welcomed the Ambassador and commended relations between the two countries in various fields.* He stressed the importance of strengthening these relations at the level of parliamentary work between the Shura Council and the Azerbaijani Parliament through increasing meetings and visits.* He also pointed to the importance of supporting trade, investment cultural, sports, cultural and tourism fields.* For his part, the Ambassador confirmed the importance of bilateral relations in various fields and their development in a way that serves common interests, praising the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s regional and international pioneering role and the great efforts being exerted in the service of Islam and Muslims.* He also expressed his aspirations for strengthening trade and economic exchange in a number of fields, especially in the agricultural field.* He also commended great measures that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.* During the meeting, the two sides also discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.*
