Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Receives Acting Deputy Chief of U.S. Mission

Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jiffri received here today, Acting Deputy Chief of the U.S. Mission to the Kingdom John Godfree.

At the outset of the meeting, Al-Jiffri welcomed the American diplomat and accompanying delegation, stressing the depth of relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States, in various fields, especially the parliamentary relations between the Shura Council and the US Congress.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the visit of Al-Shura delegation, headed by its Deputy Speaker to the United States, next week, and anticipated consequences on backing up bilateral cooperation and joint action.

Acting US deputy chief diplomat, for his part, confirmed significance of bilateral relations between the two countries, in all fields, and ways of developing them to best serve the common interests of the United States of America, Saudi Arabia and their friendly peoples and promoting joint parliamentary cooperation, referring to the visit of Al-Shura delegation to Washington, next week.

The meeting was attended by the Head of the US-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee, at Al-Shura Dr. Khaled Awwad and member of Al-Shura Dr. Aziz Tahir and a number of U.S. diplomats, at the US Embassy, in the Kingdom.
