Saudi Shura Council Speaker: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Deals with Syrian Crisis from Humanitarian, Islamic Foundations

Speaker of Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh has confirmed that the Palestinian cause is one of the most important issues which efforts should be combined to solve it and respond to what is stipulated in international conventions, treaties and peace initiatives, indicating the sufferings of the Palestinian people for more than 60 years ago of Israeli occupation, displacement, repeated attacks and settlements on their territories.

This came in a speech delivered by Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh before the 36th meeting of the Member States of the Organization Islamic of Cooperation (OIC)'s Councils, which was held in the Turkish capital, Ankara on last Monday and Tuesday.

He pointed to the tragedy of the Syrian people, saying that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the first countries in the world which demanded the Syrian regime, since the beginning of the crisis, to stop using military machine in targeting of civilians, and that Kingdom has dealt with the brotherly Syrian people's crisis emanating from humanitarian and Islamic foundations and opened its doors to the Syrian brothers where it received since the eruption of the crisis nearly two million and a half million Syrian citizens, granting them complete freedom of movement, regular residence and accommodation for those who wanted to stay in the Kingdom and the consequent rights to free health care, working and education, and that Kingdom's efforts have been also spreading to include taking care of millions of Syrian refugees in the neighboring countries to their homeland in Jordan, Lebanon and other countries.
