The Shura Council Holds its 59th Ordinary Session

During its fifty-ninth ordinary session of the first year of the seventh term held today under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Vice-Speaker of the Council, Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jafri, the Shura Council approved the draft law to combat terrorism crimes and its financing.

The Shura Council also decided to approve the proposed amendments and additions to the anti-money laundering system.

H.E Dr. Yahya Al-Sama'an said that in another resolution taken during the session, the Council requested the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to address the unbalanced distribution of water and sanitation services between the Kingdom's regions and to reserve more sites to enhance the sources of drinking water and protect them from the unfair depletion of non-renewable groundwater.

In another resolution, the Council requested the General Authority for Investment to stimulate investment by establishing public companies specializing in technical home services, stimulating investments in the industry of high demand imported goods locally and stimulating investment in renewable energy sources, said H.E Dr. Yahya Al-Sama'an.

Also, at the beginning of the session, the Shura Council approved a draft memorandum of cooperation between King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives and the Bulgarian National Library located in Riyadh.
