Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Receives Shura's Speaker

Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa received here today Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, currently on an official visit to Pakistan, in the presence of Speaker of the Pakistani National Assembly Asad Qaiser.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and opportunities of strengthening them, as well as discussing, a number of developments in the region. The meeting was attended by the Shura Speaker's accompanying delegation and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki.

Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan has received here Speaker of Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh and accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Pakistan. At the outset, the Prime Minister praised the distinguished, firm and strong relations between the leaderships and peoples of the Republic of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Prime Minister reviewed his country’s most important challenges facing peace and stability in the region, and the importance of the Kashmir issue to his country, stressing the need to work to combat extremism and terrorism in all its forms.

For his part, the Shura's Speaker affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness to enhance and develop its relations with Pakistan in various fields in the interest of the two countries and their two brotherly peoples.

He affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's support for a peaceful solution to Kashmir and in accordance with the international resolutions in this regard in a manner that achieves peace and stability in the region and takes into account the interests of the Kashmir residents, pointing to the efforts exerted by the Shura Council and Parliament in Pakistan to support the Kashmir issue at the Islamic parliamentary level.
