Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh heads the Kingdom's delegation to the 147th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly and the IPU Governing Council meetings, held in Luanda, Republic of Angola from October 23 to 27. The assembly is slated to discuss parliamentary action for peace, justice and strong institutions, and several other topics related to parliamentary affairs. Secretary General of the Shura Council Mohammed bin Dakhil Al-Mutairi will be participating in the meeting of parliamentary secretaries.* Other members of the Shura council are also participating in the meetings of the four permanent committees of the IPU: Committee on Peace and International Security, Committee on Sustainable Development, Committee on Democracy and Human Rights and Committee on United Nations Affairs.
