Shura Council Holds 23rd Ordinary Session

Presided over by its Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, the Shura Council held virtually today its 23rd ordinary session. During the meeting, the Shura Council gave a go-ahead instruction for completing the necessary procedures to approve a draft agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Tourism Organization to establish a regional office for the organization in Riyadh, according to a branch headquarters agreement signed in Tbilisi on 17/09/2020. The Shura Council also approved a draft agreement between the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the National Agency of Drug and Food Control of Indonesia in the field of control, quality and safety of food and drug products, which was signed in Riyadh and Jakarta simultaneously on 13/08/2020 as well as a draft agreement between SFDA and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan in the field of medical products, which was signed in Tokyo on 14/12/2020. It also approved a draft general agreement between the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan which was signed in Riyadh on 21/01/2021. The Shura Council also discussed several issues on its agenda.
