His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, held an official discussion session at the Council's seat in Riyadh, with His Excellency the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, Jawahari bin Abdul, during his official visit to the Kingdom at the head of a delegation from the Malaysian House of Representatives.*At the beginning of the discussion session, the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, wishing His Excellency and the accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in the Kingdom, noting the distinguished relations between the two countries and the continuous progress and development they are witnessing.*During the discussion session, Dr. Al-Sheikh referred to the mechanism of work of the Shura Council, its law and its effective role in the legislative and oversight fields, stressing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy with its various activities in interacting with various issues and topics.*During the talks session, parliamentary relations between the Shura Council in the Kingdom and the Malaysian House of Representatives were discussed, as well as ways to enhance and develop them to levels that serve and keep pace with the common interests between the two countries and peoples through bilateral visits and the exchange of parliamentary expertise, in addition to discussing many topics of common interest.*The joint talks session was attended by His Excellency the vice Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr. Mishaal Al-Sulami, Her Excellency the Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council, Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, and His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Council, Mr. Mohammed Al-Mutairi. The talks session was also attended by members of the Shura Council, members of the Saudi-Malaysian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Dr. Ali Al-Ali, Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Yazid Al-Tuwaihri, Vice Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Asma Al-Muwaisher, Her Highness Princess Dr. Al-Jawhara bint Fahd bin Khalid, Dr. Hamad Balharith, Raeda Abunyan, Dr. Tariq Al-Shammari, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi, Abdullah Al-Madi, Dr. Ali Al-Ghaban, Engineer Ali Al-Qarni, Fadhel Al-Buainain, Faihan bin Labdah, and Dr. Najwa Al-Ghamdi. The talks session was also attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Malaysia, Musaed Al-Saleem.*It was attended from the Malaysian side by members of the House of Representatives Zuhair bin Hassan, Muhammad Buzi bin Al-Sheikh, Malaysian Ambassador to the Kingdom Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah, and a number of officials from the Malaysian House of Representatives.
